 Nýlendu Icelandic Sheepdogs

ABOUT OUR DOGS:

Snotra and Spurdann are both exceptional examples of the FCI Standard for the Icelandic Sheepdog.  Snotra is quiet and laidback, but at the same time very alert and joyful. Spurðann is the happy go lucky one; who is rambunctious, fun loving and is an alpha male. Both are loving and wonderful companions. Snotra snuggled with me from the beginning. However Spurdann, having come from a working farm took longer to learn to enjoy the couch. Once he got the hang of it, however, he is a wonderful snuggler and love bug, checking in regularly for a pet or snuggle if it has been too long. Spurdanns' personality is well suited for herding and working. He is very athletic, alert and loyal. His strongest characteristic is his intelligence, typical of the breed. Snotra is the type of dog that you would want to babysit your children as she is loving and attentive, always wanting to please.

PRESERVING THE RARE LINES:

Snotra is from the rare M1/M2 family line of the Icelandic Sheepdog that is important to support and propagate and is carrying the O line.

OUR HEALTHY DOGS:

Our dogs have passed annual CERF tests and their PennHIP scores are posted on the pedigree page. We are proud participants and support the ISAA's CHIC Health Program and follow the breeding standards of the club.

OUR COMMITMENT TO THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY (ISIC)

We follow the guidelines recommended by the Icelandic Sheepdog International Cooperation's (ISIC) Breeding Committee. These standards were developed based on research of the ISIC countries in cooperation with the scientific community in support of the continued health of the breed.

We are not currently taking applications, We will post an update when we have a planned litter.
